Motive Technologies Inc Overview

Motive Technologies Inc, formerly known as KeepTruckin, has continued to grow rapidly since its rebranding in 2022. By 2025, Motive is recognized not just as an ELD provider but as a leading force in the broader connected fleet and asset management market. With an expanded range of products including ELDs, dashcams, fleet tracking systems, and AI-powered safety solutions, Motive now supports industries such as logistics, construction, agriculture, oil and gas, and field service operations.

The company’s main mission is to automate and simplify physical operations. Motive’s technology helps businesses of all sizes reduce costs, improve compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, boost operational efficiency, and enhance driver safety across their fleets.

Motive ELD remains a core offering. Known for its straightforward installation, reliable logging, and user-friendly mobile app, it continues to be a popular choice am

ong both owner-operators and larger fleets. The system’s ability to function seamlessly with Motive’s AI Dashcam and Asset Gateway makes it a flexible solution for companies looking to manage drivers, vehicles, and assets all from a single platform.

Motive’s investments in AI, machine learning, and mobile-first interfaces have kept its products ahead of evolving fleet management trends. In 2025, the brand is often compared with top competitors like Samsara, Geotab, and Verizon Connect, but it remains a standout due to its mix of affordability, strong user interface, fast support turnaround, and new compliance tools.

Key Features of Motive

Motive’s ELD and fleet management platform have expanded their capabilities significantly by 2025. Alongside reliable electronic logging, Motive now integrates several smart features designed to enhance operational efficiency, fleet safety, and regulatory compliance.

Here’s a breakdown of the key features you can expect with Motive:

Log Auditing

Motive’s automated log auditing tool provides real-time alerts for potential Hours of Service (HOS) violations. Drivers and fleet managers are instantly notified of errors, helping prevent costly fines and violations. In 2025, improved AI algorithms have made auditing faster and more accurate.

Continuous GPS Tracking

Motive offers continuous GPS tracking, even when a driver’s mobile device is disconnected. Breadcrumb trail reporting ensures managers can see precise movement history, making route audits, ETAs, and dispatching more efficient than ever.

Idle Time Monitoring

Reducing idle time is critical for fuel savings and environmental goals. Motive tracks and reports excessive idling, providing fleet managers with detailed insights to reduce fuel costs and engine wear.

Safety Hub and AI Dashcamskeep trucking eld motive Safety Hub- Dashcam

Motive’s smart AI-powered dashcams are fully integrated into the Safety Hub, which automatically detects unsafe behaviors like distracted driving, speeding, and following too closely. Real-time coaching alerts and event-based video evidence help improve driver safety across fleets.

Messaging Platform

The integrated messaging system allows dispatchers and drivers to communicate easily and securely through the Motive app, streamlining operational communication without needing third-party apps or phone calls.

Geofencing

Motive’s geofencing feature allows businesses to set up virtual boundaries around specific locations. Entry and exit alerts help monitor load deliveries, warehouse activities, and yard movements with accuracy.

IFTA Fuel Tax Reporting

Motive’s automatic mileage collection and trip-based reporting simplify IFTA Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) compliance. Fleet managers no longer need to manually calculate miles driven across states.

Electronic Logbook App

The Motive Electronic Logbook App is designed for simplicity, allowing drivers to easily record duty status changes, vehicle inspections, and HOS compliance on both Android and iOS devices.

Driver Scorecards

Driver behavior is continuously evaluated, with scorecards tracking critical metrics like harsh braking, rapid acceleration, speeding, and distracted driving. Managers can use this data for coaching, incentive programs, and insurance documentation.

Vehicle Diagnostics

Real-time access to Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) provides early warnings for vehicle maintenance needs. This proactive approach minimizes downtime, prevents breakdowns, and helps with DOT compliance inspections.

7-Day Recap View

Drivers and managers can quickly view a 7-day summary of driving hours, making it easier to plan routes and avoid HOS violations.

 Advantages

User-Friendly Design

Motive’s platform remains one of the easiest to set up and operate. The mobile app and web dashboard are intuitive, even for drivers or dispatchers with limited tech experience.

Simple Installation

The hardware installation process is fast and typically takes less than 15 minutes. Cables and connectors are provided for different types of vehicles, whether light-duty or heavy-duty.

Affordable Pricing

Motive’s upfront cost and subscription rates are among the most competitive in the market. The Starter Plan starting at $25 per month makes it accessible for small fleets and owner-operators.

24/7 Customer Support

Motive offers around-the-clock support with fast response times. Support has improved significantly since 2023, with most tickets now resolved within a few hours.

Comprehensive Fleet Manager Tools

Fleet managers can generate detailed reports covering HOS compliance, fuel efficiency, safety events, vehicle health, and driver performance. The reports are customizable and easy to export.

Integrated Safety Solutions

With the addition of AI Dashcams, driver scorecards, and proactive safety alerts, Motive now offers a fully integrated safety and compliance platform.

Scalable for Growing Fleets

Motive’s system easily scales from a single truck to fleets with hundreds of vehicles, with no complex reconfiguration needed.

Disadvantages

Short-Haul Range Exception Handling

Motive ELD still does not automatically detect or flag short-haul range exception. Dispatchers and drivers must manually manage this status.

Log Edits Limited to Dispatch After Midnight

Drivers cannot edit duty statuses immediately after a mistake; only dispatchers can edit logs once the day closes. This can sometimes delay quick corrections.

Strict Contract Terms for Promotions

Promotional hardware offers often require a three-year contract commitment. While this lowers upfront costs, it reduces flexibility for smaller or seasonal fleets.

First-Year Payment for Smaller Fleets

Some small fleets may be asked to pay the first year of service upfront depending on subscription plans, which may impact cash flow for new businesses.

Why Do You Need The Motive ELD?

  • keep truckin appTo stay compliant regardless of your current location – if you have a smartphone or tablet, you will be able to connect to the ELD device using a USB. This will allow you to stay compliant.
  • Connect to different vehicles on the road– There are many types of cables that you can use to connect with the ELD device. They allow you to connect to any other vehicle on the road.
  • Prevent HOS violations– Motive will allow you to get alerts for all HOS violations way before they take place. This will allow you to focus more on the road.

Having said it all, it is clear that Motive’s ELD (formerly KeepTruckin) ELD is an attractive option. Especially for fleets that are looking for a low-cost device and an easy installation process. The system is not only simple to use for the drivers, but also for the office staff. Its list of advanced features is better than most of the competitor’s features.

New Motive Fleet Management Tools for 2025

Motive continues to enhance its fleet management platform with new tools that make dispatching, routing, and communication faster and more efficient. Originally introduced in 2023, these features have been refined and expanded in 2025 to help fleets operate smarter with less manual effort.

1. Proximity Search

ELD device connectivity

Proximity Search allows dispatchers to quickly find the closest available drivers for urgent pickups. Instead of manually checking driver locations, dispatchers can click on any point on the map and instantly view a sorted list of nearby drivers, including their estimated arrival times and available hours of service.

This tool speeds up dispatching decisions, helps maximize driver productivity, and reduces empty miles.

2. Weather and Traffic Map Layers

ELD device feature

Instead of switching between multiple apps to check road conditions, dispatchers can now access live weather patterns and real-time traffic congestion directly within the Motive dashboard. The map overlays allow dispatchers to:

  • Identify safe and efficient routes

  • Avoid delays caused by storms or accidents

  • Plan better delivery timelines

This integrated feature leads to better on-time performance and safer trip planning.

3. Live Location Sharing

ELD device feature

Motive’s Live Location Sharing feature makes customer updates simple and transparent. Dispatchers can send real-time links to customers, allowing them to track the shipment’s location, ETA, and delivery progress without constant calls or manual status updates.

This improves the customer experience, builds trust, and reduces the workload on dispatchers handling multiple deliveries at once.

Staying Ahead: What’s Brewing in Motive Fleet Management for Fall 2025

Motive continues to invest heavily in technology upgrades that simplify operations, improve fuel efficiency, and enhance fleet safety. Based on developments that started in late 2023, here’s what Motive is offering and planning for 2025.

Reinventing Spend Management

ELD device cost

Fuel remains one of the largest operating costs for fleets. Motive’s Savings Finder tool is now more powerful, helping drivers locate partner fuel stations offering the highest discounts along their routes. In addition, fleet managers can now use Merchant Blocking features to guide drivers away from expensive fueling locations, ensuring smarter spending and lower overall fuel bills.

Ushering a New Era in Vehicle Tracking

ELD device featureTo address the growing concern of fuel theft and unauthorized spending, Motive has strengthened its vehicle tracking alignment. Businesses can now tightly link vehicle location data with purchase transactions, providing better visibility and reducing fraud across the fleet.

Upgrades in User Experience

ELD device users

Motive’s fleet management platform has undergone major updates in 2025, focusing on a cleaner, faster, and more intuitive user interface. Inspections, document management, and HOS monitoring are now easier to navigate, with visual upgrades that speed up daily administrative tasks for drivers and fleet managers alike.

Prioritizing Road Safety

ELD device safety

Driver safety continues to be a major focus for Motive. New AI-powered in-cab alerts for unsafe lane changes and high-speed driving behaviors are designed to intervene immediately before accidents happen. These alerts help reduce risk and protect drivers in real time, without adding distractions.

Safeguarding Driver Privacy

Trucking

As fleet monitoring technology advances, Motive has introduced updated privacy settings for its dual-facing dash cams. Drivers now have more control over when interior-facing cameras are active, balancing the need for accountability with respect for personal privacy when off duty.

The fleet management landscape is continually evolving, and it’s our mission to keep you informed. Our comprehensive research on Motive, paired with our industry insights, strongly suggests that Keep Truckin’s Fall 2025 lineup will be a game-changer, heralding unparalleled safety, efficiency, and savings.

KeepTruckin ELD (Now Motive) with Cellular

Motive has continued to upgrade its technology to ensure constant, reliable data transmission — even in areas with limited mobile coverage. One of the most important advancements is the integration of built-in cellular connectivity into their ELD devices.

Understanding Cellular vs. Traditional ELD Connections
In traditional ELD setups, data transmission often relies on the driver’s mobile device and its cellular connection. This dependency can lead to gaps in reporting if the driver’s phone disconnects, runs out of battery, or moves out of coverage.

Keep Trucking ELD Devices

Motive’s ELD with integrated cellular changes this dynamic. The device itself is equipped with its own dedicated cellular connection, independent of the driver’s smartphone. This ensures that important compliance data, GPS location, and diagnostic alerts continue to transmit in real time, even if the mobile device is offline or unpaired.

Key Benefits of Motive ELD with Cellular

Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) cell-enabled ELD solved this delayed non-compliance problem. The solution connects the driver’s mobile devices to the engine by connecting to the ELD via Bluetooth or USB.

The logs are recorded in the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) App and relayed to the driver’s mobile device.

Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) provides a full-proof data storage connection and zero risks of non-compliance! ELD’s that rely solely on cell networks simply cannot do this.

Importance Of KeepTruckin ELD With Cellular

It’s Perfect For Mixed Fleets Too.

Drivers that are required to keep logs simply connect their devices using Bluetooth or USB.

keep trucking eld motive vehicle gatewayDrivers are not required to keep driving logs simply forego connecting and just drive!

Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD with cellular tracks a vehicle’s location continuously.

Also, other useful telematics data gets sent to the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) Dashboard through the cellular connection that is inside the ELD.

This allows you to know where your vehicles are and how they are performing regardless of who is driving.

Continuous Collection Of Vehicle Information

The main reasons for using Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) cellular ELD are to allow fleet admins to get: driver performance, IFTA, fuel consumption, fault codes, and GPS information in real-time.

Installing And Assigning Keep Truckin ELD

Installing and assigning the Motive ELD remains straightforward and user-friendly in 2025. Here’s the step-by-step process:

Install the Motive ELD Device

  • Turn off the vehicle engine before installation.

  • Locate the vehicle’s diagnostic port (6-pin, 9-pin, or OBD-II).

  • Attach the corresponding Motive cable to the diagnostic port. Secure the connection by turning the collar clockwise for heavy-duty ports.

  • Connect the other end of the cable to the Motive ELD device and tighten the thumbscrews.

  • Wait for the device lights to flash and then turn solid. The left light turns green once GPS is connected successfully. If not, reposition the device for better sky visibility.

  • Mount the ELD securely on the dashboard, preferably near the windshield and away from vents or electrical components. Clean the surface with the provided alcohol swab before applying adhesive.

Assign the Motive ELD to a Vehicle

Keep trucking eld motive hardware set

  • Log into the Motive Fleet Dashboard.

  • Select “Vehicles” and choose the vehicle you want to assign.

  • Click “+ Assign ELD” in the vehicle profile under the Electronic Logging Device section.

  • Select the ELD based on its serial number or search for it manually.

  • Save the assignment.

Connect Driver Accounts

  • Each driver should have their own Motive Driver App account.

  • Drivers connect to the ELD via Bluetooth or USB through the app.

  • Team driving is supported; only one ELD device is needed, with drivers connecting separately to log their hours individually.

Important Notes Before Installation

  • Standard vehicles use 9-pin, 6-pin, or OBD-II ports.

  • Newer Mack and Volvo trucks may require a specialized harness, provided at no extra cost when specified during ordering.

  • Y-cables are available to conceal wiring behind dashboard panels if needed.

With this installation and assignment method, fleets can set up Motive ELD units quickly without needing an administrator or third-party technician.

Final Review Remarks about Motive (KeepTruckin ELD)

The Motive App and ELD system continue to be among the most intuitive and reliable choices for fleets in 2025. The app provides a straightforward interface, making it easy for drivers to manage logs, complete inspections, and share records during DOT roadside inspections. Features like DOT Inspection Mode allow officers to quickly view necessary logs without accessing personal data, ensuring compliance is smooth and efficient.

Motive’s web-based back-office system is equally user-friendly. It offers messaging, real-time GPS tracking, vehicle health monitoring, and driver HOS compliance management, all from a centralized dashboard. Reports for DVIRs and HOS records are included with basic plans, while more advanced reporting options are available under higher-tier plans like Pro and Enterprise.

Compared to many bring-your-own-device (BYOD) ELD solutions, Motive offers a complete package with added telematics features that match or exceed those of higher-cost competitors. Features like integrated AI dashcams, spend management tools, idle tracking, and asset tracking give fleets much broader control over operations.

One of Motive’s biggest advantages remains its early and complete compliance with FMCSA ELD regulations. While other providers transitioned from AOBRDs to full ELDs over time, Motive has been fully compliant from the beginning, building trust with fleets looking for reliable long-term solutions.

Choosing the right ELD system can be a complex decision, but Motive simplifies the process by offering an affordable, scalable, and easy-to-use solution. It continues to be an excellent option for both small operations and large fleets looking for modern compliance tools combined with advanced fleet management features.

how the hell are you going to mke changes to your account 30 days prior when they only give you 1 days notice that the invoice is due .

absolutley horrible and unaccountable customer service

    1. Hi Leonard, thanks for sharing your experience. It’s unfortunate that this has happened to you. Motive generally puts out a good product although their service has been an increasing topic of concern. Hopefully they can improve their customer service if they want to retain and get new clients.

  2. I signed up for Motive but never got a chance to use the product. The items was still in the box. I got charged and called to cancel my membership and was still getting charged. I tried to send them the product back. They want take it. I tried every way possible to cancel the membership and they said they did it but really didn’t. Now, they want me to pay over $3000 for a membership that I never used and trying to sue me. I would never recommend these people to anyone.

    1. Hi Tonja, I’m really sorry to hear you’re having such a tough time with Motive; they are a big company, but they can also make mistakes.
As for your concern, although you get charged monthly, there is an initial contract of 12 months, it is possible that you are getting charged because of that. Hopefully, you will be able to resolve the issue.

Absolute WORST customer service ive ever experienced……………… all of their under trained, script reading work from home agents that are totally uselss. You request mangers contact information and they refuse…..

Stay tuned for my 3 week ordeal with them that will make anyone RUN from motive……..

      1. Thank you for sharing your experience, Peter. We’re truly sorry to hear about the disappointing customer service you’ve received from Motive. Your feedback is extremely important to us and our community. While it’s disheartening to learn about your ordeal, we look forward to reading more about your documented experience. This will not only help us understand the specific issues you faced but also serve as a learning experience for everyone, including Motive representatives who read our visitors’ reviews. Your insights are valuable and can assist others in making informed decisions. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

  3. Worst customer service, Fred Cook did very bad customer services, I am in trouble with them from last two years with them, they are getting worse and worse. I don’t recommend it

  4. I don’t wish the troubles I have had with Motive, formerly Keep Truckin, on anyone. I had originally purchased one ELD and it costs more than this review says, and it is in the contract that you can’t reveal the price you actually pay to others, but anyhow, I temporarily added an ELD to a different truck and was paying double. I had a sick family member that I was caring for and ended up canceling the service for the second truck. Over a year later I realized that Motive was still double billing me. I called and was told that while it did show that I had cancelled the second ELD they had not stopped billing me. They refused to refund any money. I told them to stop double billing me and they made it real inconvenient with having to provide serial numbers and I sent emails plus many painful phone conversations with everyone saying they are managers. A couple months later, I realized they were still double billing me because it was being auto paid to my credit card. I tried to get it cancelled again but they insist trying to double bill me. I had to cancel my credit card and they are still calling trying to double bill me. They have the worst billing team. They will say something and in the same conversation deny that they said it. It is so time consuming dealing with this company and I was going to just change companies but my drivers is comfortable with this system and don’t want to change. I also found out from Motive staff that you only have access to your driver logs while you have service. You do not have access to old records once you stop the service. Terrible business. If someone is recommending this business I would bet they are getting a kickback. The company that recommended them to me said they no longer recommend them but I seen today that Pilot flying J truck recommends them which really surprised me. Pilot Flying J should learn something from Budweiser, be careful who you tie your brand too. Love’s Truck stops are normally nearby.

Anytime one of our readers/followers has a complaint, we hope they find a solution. Although ELDdevices.net has no control over customer service complaints about Motive or any other company, we do what we can to help. FYI… in the past, Motive has contacted us about comments users have left on our site regarding authenticity. Unfortunately we have no way of confirming whether comments are genuine or not. My point is that this means Motive monitors the comments on this site! Why? Maybe they cross reference names of commenters and their customers to resolve issues?… I’m not sure. But hopefully someone from Motive will see your comment and reach out to help you.

Cost per truck is over $100 a month. That is eld plus camera. Not 25 dollars as advertised.

    1. The prices are $25-50 depending on what services you choose with the ELD, also depends on your fleet size, larger fleet has cheaper cost per vehicle. And, the dashcam services are available separately, maybe they are also charging some fees for internet with dashcams. I recommend you talk with the helpline and ask from them about the details of all the charges and what services are included in your package.
Thanks for shedding some light on possible issues, it will help anyone else facing the same problem.

If you are thinking of purchasing a eld through motive pls consider another company. These people are scammers, their customer service is terrible, they try to upsell you even when you have told them numerous times that you are not interested. We have been extremely frustrated with this company and I would not recommend what so ever. We have paid in full for our eld’s and they have after a few months removed them from our platform and therefore they do not work in the trucks anymore, then they come back to us and tell us that we didn’t pay for them and that we must pay again for them to be activated.
Also many times what they quote you and then what you actually see on your invoice and receipt do not match up. Their billing is beyond confusing.

I was think that it is only me having bad experiences with this company but after reading the other people reviews I realized that I have made biggest mistake doing business with company. This is the worst company I have ever deal with. They are 100% scammers I have talked and agreed on the price and service after paying them almost $500 I received wrong dash-came I ordered dull facing camera they sent me road facing after contacting them consecutively for a week finally they said they are going to send us the replacement. Now it’s been one month waiting for them to ship but they even didn’t ship the camera replacement. Trying to contact them every single day but no answer. I am trying to get in touch with management team ASAP. I have already filled the claim against this company on attorney’s general office about there fraudulent business.

  11. Hi, my name is Lateisha Davis and I’ve been a customer for a year now. I’m totally unsatisfied with customer service bill department. I’ve had an open case since March 2022. Motive/Keep Truckin was processing payments on my personal account for another customer. I’ve explained to multiple agents that I have no affliction with company. The company has taken $1018 from my account and only refunded $350 June 15. I’m still placing calls to company to obtain my funds. I’ve been getting the run around. Agents are dismissing calls by saying there’s an open case. Again I disputed charges back in March. I’ve uploaded bank statements verifying charges. I will be taking this company to court. A case shouldn’t take months to resolve. Unfortunately I can’t opt from agreement from what I was told until 2025. I’ve exhausted with contacting billing department and hopefully you’re able to escalate.

THE WORST! It’s a big long, buckle up…

Firstly – they allowed someone that did NOT have the authorization to put my company under any contracts to start a new contract with them. Had I had the chance to review their racket of a contract and it’s terms, I never would’ve agreed to them.

We decided to close our business and cancel service with them. I bought their ELD and now would like to sell it back to them or to another company in need of it. Keep Truckin aka Motive refuse to allow that. I can’t send it back, they won’t take it. I can’t sell it, because they refuse to assign it to another company. The first rep told me they don’t have the ability to do it (but they’ll lease the equipment and can reprogram them for the next customer).

Then I got the TRUTH – really, they were losing money. Apparently other companies were buying the equiptment and selling them when they no longer needed them and then asking KeepTruckin aka Motive to set up a new account, they wanted to use the service. So they were losing money on the new customer because the new customer didn’t have to purchase or lease the equipment.

So – I’m stuck with a subscription that I didn’t agree to, but they won’t allow me to lessen the amount of data I have. They said that we can’t change the terms after the contract is implace but they certainly allowed me to add data about a month after getting started.

    And – I’m stuck with equipment I can’t use.

Horrible business, they trick you saying they have a promotion for free hardwares, but it actually a contract for 2-5 years that they will not disclosed with you. Once I find out I sign into a 5 years contract, I called their customer services, multiple times, and all they say is that the way it is, they can’t change anything now. Please avoid this business, it scamming people into contract that they are not aware of.

  14. They locked me in for 60 months contract without my knowledge. I asked the agent, Tim Shaw, multiple time if this is month to month and can I cancel at anytime, he said YES! Then I later found out that I was locked into a 60 months contract when I was trying to cancel their dashcam service. I contacted their customer services multiple times and everytime they try to blame it on me for not carefully reading the contract, but refuse to take responsibility for their agent scamming me. I even asked them if they recorded phone calls between their agent and I, they said yes. They said they listen to all of it and did not hear Tim confirming it’s a month to month. I then ask them if they can send me those recording and they refused, saying is their company property 😂 Okkk! Who in their right mind would lock themselves in a 5 years contract with an ELD service company on the first year of opening their business? Now Im stuck with them for 5 years, ain’t going to use them ever again after this stupid contract is over, which is in 2024. TRUCKERS PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS UNETHICAL BUSINESS!

Worst customer service out there. Had a driver on his 34 hour reset came and got the truck, took it home to wash bed sheets, clean the truck and load personal items in, he forgot to select personal conveyance and it logged him on duty driving. He drove like 10 miles. Called customer service to have it corrected and they refused. Apparently I’m paying for a service that they can dictate about drivers making a honest mistake. Now his 34 hour reset is all screwed up.

  16. We entered into an agreement with Keeptruckin to establish a ELD (Electronic Logging Devices) a service that we cannot use without the actual device that connect with the vehicle, And was told that there is a grace period with an option to cancel. Yet to our surprise the billing started from the time you give Keeptruckin your credit card number, even though they will not provide you with s service since the device is not shipped nor received by us. And we sent an email to support and sales person as instructed by the website, we haven’t received any reply back from either, until a 2nd email was sent and a call to support to request a call back.
Now Alan Samuel’s the sale person telling us in order to cancel( Even thought) the device was shipped late, never hooked nor used, we will have to pay the remaining of the 35 mouths!

Customer service bugs the hell out of me every other month to upgrade. Think I’ll go another route.

  18. positive reviews are all fake. keeptruckin has industry worst customer support, they will over charge you, support reps are all off shore with fake north american names that dont have any knowledge about the product, have eld shortage so they cannot ship for 3 months but they dont tell you that when signing contract only after. this company will disrupt your operations 12 times a year do not get stuck with them. have to block credit cards to stop them from charging

    1. Hi Ray, thanks for your input. All reviews in elddevices.net are real and made by actual Keep Truckin users. Our contacts with Keep Tuckin representatives are US-based. We are not aware if there are some representatives offshore but it is possible since many companies in every industry use remote call centers.

  19. The device came a month late, and my driver had a chance to use this device on another truck, and preferred to stay with our current provider who does not charge a monthly service fee. The driver stated the device did not track his hours well enough on a continuous basis like the current system. Unfortunately I had signed up with a contract for services of 50 dollars per month. It is a two year contract and they will not let me even lower the service plan to 20 dollars a month, although I am sure the would have changed the contract from 20 to 50 dollars a month at any time. So basically I can going to lose the cost of the device and 1200 dollars over two years to this company who will not provide me with any service, nor will they negotiate with me and at least allow me to ride out the contract at 20 per month. You can get much better service and equipment without a monthly fee. This is a complete rip off. Do not use this devise or this company.

  20. Worst customer service i have ever encountered in my whole entire life!Ordered keeptruckin and the representative lied to me so as to get me on board.I requested for cancellation since the hardware was going to take 1 month to be shipped but i am being told your request will be rejected!Rude unprofessional customer service with attitude,I need my $480 refunded since i don’t have your product!I’ll never ever use keeptruckin,

I have a fleet company with multiple trucks, the gps constantly fails to perform and when I talk to the rep they tell me they will escalate it but i dont get a cal until 2-3 weeks later. They don’t want to refund me for their bad service either. Everything was ok until the gps stopped working…. And this has been the 20th time I’ve had this issue and am simply fed up! Not the company to go with if you heavily depend on gps stay away!!!

    1. Hi Jason, thanks for your feedback, I haven’t heard about GPS failures before… However, I am aware that Keep Truckin customer support can be improved. My suggestion is to be consistent because eventually you will find a customer service representative that will be able to solve your issue.

Its a good system BUT the customer service is SHIT!
Forgot to update my credit card info after I changed accounts. They shut me down over the weeked for a measly $21. Have had this service for over a yr, never missed a payment. Yet my old card doesn’t go through and OFF it is. No one available to take payments over the weekends. Cannot update card info their website and to get a hold of some one it takes 40 mins during the week. Then they transfer you cause it’s the wrong department and the line hangs up. I went through this BS system over 8 times before i got a telling me it’s my fault to begin with.
For a company like this that has trucks using their system 24/7 including holidays…… getting shut down on a weekend for $21 is real petty shit. Is this company gonna go broke if they wait till Monday to get paid?
No! Yet, they are very quick to log you out for $21.
I expected more from this company.
I will be looking for another form of elog.

1 truck that I need to keep the law off of

  28. I heard the ELD unit is an amazing tool, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to use the one I purchased. I was sent the wrong unit, no problem I will just exchange it. NOT! Within 5 days and speaking to 6 different KeepTruckin representatives and being told REPEATEDLY by one billing and invoice personnel (“Sir you don’t listen”), and having been told REPEATEDLY ” It is Keep Truckin company policy that we cannot exchange the item until you subscribe and purchase a service plan.” Mind you, I had already created an account and decided on the plan I would select once I received the equipment. REPEATEDLY I have been brushed off, transferred, etc. it has been 3 weeks with no response, actions nor communication from Keep Truckin. I did nothing wrong other than to purchase what I was told was the best ELD equipment out there. Why would I be treated as so, I have no clue? Anyone wanting to purchase the best ELD on the market please let me know. Oh, by the way, the unit I have is for a tractor-trailer, I have a 1 ton dually.

  29. Just want to say your article is as astounding.

  1. people ,, never use this company , they send you an invoice and if you want to make changes , you are screwed,

they sent an invoice dec 1 , due dec 2 , tried to call but of course all people i tried to call goes straight to voicemail and when i did actually speak to a human, they said you have to make changes to your account 30 days prior to any invoicing
how the hell are you going to mke changes to your account 30 days prior when they only give you 1 days notice that the invoice is due .

absolutley horrible and unaccountable customer service

    1. Hi Jonathan, thank you for sharing your experience. All comments, good or bad, are welcome because it helps others make informed decisions.

THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING, THE COST IS $150.00 PER ELD AND $40.00 – $50.00 PER MONTH FOR THE SERVICE.

    1. Hi Tina,

Thanks for your comment. The monthly fee depends on which plan you contract. The Starter plan costs $25 per month per unit. The Pro plan costs $40 per month per unit, and the Enterprise plan costs $50 per month per unit.

    Don’t use KeepTruckin!
Poor customer service and don’t stand behind their product. The KeepTruckin philosophy is pay your money and we will keep it!
If you are trucking…..you work hard for your money, so don’t throw it away to this company!
    ZERO STARS! ZERO RATING!
