The cost of the Motive (Keep Truckin) device for 2023 is $150 and then there are several monthly plans: a Free Plan, the Starter Plan costs $25 per month, the Pro Plan costs $40 per month and the Enterprise plan costs $50 per month. The Motive Road Facing Smart Dashcam price is $250 whereas, the Motive Dual-Face Smart Dashcam price is $350.

Compliance is being met by a high number of fleets and drivers that currently use the Motive ELD. It is affordable, easy to use, and contains many useful features.

  • There is a recap view of hours that spans seven days.

 Advantages

  • Drivers can automatically log their HOS into the app. This allows auditing, ensuring that drivers are logging correctly.
  • The app is straightforward to use. If you can fill out a paper logbook, you can use this app.
  • It allows dispatch to view logs, make necessary edits, and send edits to the driver to either ‘accept or decline’.
  • Customer service support is always available 24/7, plus they resolve your issues quickly.
  • It’s a small device that uses a free app on your mobile device
  • Complies with the ELD mandate.

New Motive Fleet Management Tools for 2023

The new Keep Truckin tools are mainly focused on improving dispatch efficiency. Let’s review which are these new tools from Motive’s (formerly Keep Truckin) Fleet View and why they empower dispatchers to work smarter, not harder.

1. Proximity Search

ELD device connectivity

When a dispatcher gets a call about a delivery that needs to be picked up immediately, first they have to follow a series of steps to assign the pick-up. They need to check which driver is closer, estimate the driver’s time of arrival, and ensure it aligns with the driver’s HOS.

With Motive’s (formerly Keep Truckin) Proximity Search tool, a dispatcher can simply click on the pickup location on the map and see a sorted by proximity list of nearby drivers including:

  • proximity to the pickup location
  • estimated travel time and distance
  • available driver HOS information

2. Weather and Traffic Map Layers

ELD device feature

The dispatcher also must ensure the driver can deliver the load safely and on time. For that, weather conditions and traffic must be checked first.

Keep Truckin Weather and Traffic Map Layers tool help speed up this process and avoids the dispatched having to check other traffic and weather websites.

In Weather and Traffic Map Layers all this information is available on the same integrated map that you just searched for nearby drivers.

Dispatchers can turn on and off different layers to get the full picture and be able to plan smarter.

3. Live Location Sharing

ELD device feature

In order to keep Dispatcher’s customers up to date on their delivery status, Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) has launched Live Location Sharing.

This way, dispatchers can communicate efficiently live location, accurate ETAs, and real-time alerts.

Customers and partners stay up to date throughout the trip to create a great customer experience throughout the entire duration of a trip.

Staying Ahead: What’s Brewing in Motive Fleet Management for Fall 2023

At ELD Devices, we take pride in our commitment to keeping you a step ahead in the constantly evolving realm of fleet management. Through our rigorous research and thorough industry analysis, we’re eager to highlight some of the groundbreaking shifts Motive is bringing for the upcoming season.

Reinventing Spend Management

ELD device cost

In fleet management, every penny counts. Based on our findings, Motive is delving deep into ensuring fleets don’t miss out on optimal fuel savings. Their new Savings Finder tool promises a convenient way for drivers to scout for maximum discounts at partner fuel stations nearby.

Additionally, the growing concern about fuel costs has paved the way for Merchant Blocking. According to Motive, Fleet Managers will soon have the capability to tactically restrict certain pricier locations, guiding drivers towards more cost-effective fuel stations.

Ushering a New Era in Vehicle Tracking

ELD device feature

In a bid to combat the rising issue of fuel theft, which clocks in at a staggering $2.1B annually in the US, Motive seems to be focusing on enhanced vehicle and spend location alignment. This offers businesses a sharper lens to scrutinize transactions, fostering a more secure operational environment.

Upgrades in User Experience

ELD device users

In today’s digital-first age, user-friendly platforms are non-negotiable. Motive’s imminent revamps in inspection and document interfaces point towards a user-centric approach. Their transition towards single-tab, streamlined inspections, paired with visually enhanced document interfaces, suggests an emphasis on efficiency and user-friendliness.

Prioritizing Road Safety

ELD device safety

Unsafe driving practices are a persistent concern. Motive is harnessing the power of AI to combat unsafe lane changes. Immediate in-cab alerts could significantly decrease the risks associated with high-speed lane switching. Moreover, speeding alerts are becoming more tailored, ensuring drivers remain within safe limits without hampering their efficiency.

Safeguarding Driver Privacy

Trucking

In a world where privacy is increasingly sought-after, it’s heartening to see provisions for driver privacy. With the advent of dual-facing dash cams, there seems to be an evolving understanding of the balance between surveillance for safety and respect for personal space.

The fleet management landscape is continually evolving, and it’s our mission to keep you informed. Our comprehensive research on Motive, paired with our industry insights, strongly suggests that Keep Truckin’s Fall 2023 lineup will be a game-changer, heralding unparalleled safety, efficiency, and savings.

What Is the Motive ELD Device?

keep trucking eld motive

Motive ELD (formerly Keep Truckin ELD) is a hardware used to connect the diagnostic port (ECM) of a particular vehicle. It allows drivers to track, edit and deliver their driving hours using their Android device or iPhone.

The Motive ELD also enables the dispatchers to view their driving hours, exchange messages and even track their location from their computers.

Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) Electronic Logbook App

This hardware works alongside the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) Electronic Logbook App which is an editable, electronic log that replaces the paper log. The Motive Electronic Logbook App is available in Apple iTunes and the Google Play Store.

When the two are used together; that is the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) Electronic Logbook and the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD, the Motive ELD starts to record the driving time automatically in compliance with the FMCSA rule.

Useful Features

Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) electronic log has compelling features that simplify the management of fleets by maintaining transparency and proper communication. The features include:

24/7 technical support

KeepTruckin ELD (Now Motive) with Cellular

Flexibility is one of the key principles of the Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) design, which can support all kinds of fleets. This powerful telematics device now has an integrated cellular connection.

Is There A Difference Between The Cell Enabled ELD And Cellular Up And Down Connection?

Yes, there is a difference between the cellular Up/Down connection and the cell-Enabled ELD.  Keep Trucking ELD Devices

A strictly cellular up/down connection is used by some ELD vendors to send information to the driver’s phone or tablet. This process relies completely on cellular coverage.

In locations with spotty or non-existent cell coverage, the HOS data would not be logged on the driver’s cell phone. This delay creates outdated information, thus creating the issue of non-compliance.

Engine-connected ELDs will record all pertinent information during a drop in cell coverage and still relay data to the drivers’ device once the signal has returned.

Benefits of an integrated cellular connection with an engine connected ELD

Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) cell-enabled ELD solved this delayed non-compliance problem. The solution connects the driver’s mobile devices to the engine by connecting to the ELD via Bluetooth or USB.

The logs are recorded in the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) App and relayed to the driver’s mobile device.

Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) provides a full-proof data storage connection and zero risks of non-compliance! ELD’s that rely solely on cell networks simply cannot do this.

Importance Of KeepTruckin ELD With Cellular

It’s Perfect For Mixed Fleets Too.

Drivers that are required to keep logs simply connect their devices using Bluetooth or USB.

keep trucking eld motive vehicle gatewayDrivers are not required to keep driving logs simply forego connecting and just drive!

Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD with cellular tracks a vehicle’s location continuously.

Also, other useful telematics data gets sent to the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) Dashboard through the cellular connection that is inside the ELD.

This allows you to know where your vehicles are and how they are performing regardless of who is driving.

Continuous Collection Of Vehicle Information

The main reasons for using Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) cellular ELD are to allow fleet admins to get: driver performance, IFTA, fuel consumption, fault codes, and GPS information in real-time.

Installing And Assigning Keep Truckin ELD

You must first install and assign the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD when you want to use it.

However, you don’t need an administrator to help you assign the ELDs. The following step by step guide will help you easily do it on your own:

  1. Keep trucking eld motive hardware setInstall the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD in the vehicle; ensure that the engine is off when locating the diagnostic port.
  2. Properly attach the cables to the vehicle diagnostic port. The port can be 6-pin, 9-pin, or OBDI. Heavy-duty vehicles use 6 or 9 pin ports, light and medium-duty vehicles use OBDI. Turn the collar in a clockwise direction to ensure that the 6-pin and 9-pin ports are secured.
  3. On the other side of the cable, attach Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD. Screw down the thumbscrews on the 15-pin connector to secure your cable to the ELD.
  4. Once it’s plugged in, the indicator lights will flash before they turn solid red. The left side of the indicator will turn green after a minute; this indicates success in GPS connection. However, if this fails to happen, try to move the ELD to increase its exposure to the sky.

Pick a spot at the top of the dashboard to mount the ELD. Ensure that the mounting place is near the windshield, although away from electrical components or vents that can cause interference. Before installing the  KeepTruckin ELD, clean the mounting area with the alcohol swab provided. Mount the ELD on a clean surface and remove the backing from the adhesive strip.

How to Operate

  1. If you have added vehicles, click “Options” then “Edit Vehicle”.
  2. Click “+ Assign ELD” in the vehicle profile which is under the Electronic Logging Device section
  3. Select the ELD you want to assign to a vehicle. Each ELD contains a unique serial number printed at the bottom of the device adjacent to the barcode.
  4. Choose the correct ELD; you may also enter a serial number into the “Search ELDS/N” field. This is to narrow your search.
  5. Select “Save” to finish.

You can now enable your driver for ELD mode with the steps mentioned above, and then connect it to your mobile device.

Before You Install, Please Note That:

  • The standard 9-pin, 6-pin, and OBDII diagnostic ports are used for the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) plug-in.
  • If you are using a new Mack, Volvo truck, or a model year 2013 truck, Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) offers a special cable harness which is included in Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD price. Therefore, it is important to specify your type of diagnostic port when you are ordering any ELD for your vehicle.
  • Y cable is also provided to ensure that the cabling behind the trim panel is hidden.
  • A Motive ELD (formerly Keep Truckin ELD) can support team driving. The only requirement is for each of the drivers to have their own Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) Electronic Logbook app account.
  • Only one ELD is required for both drivers.

With assigned driving time, the specific driver will have to connect to the ELD with their Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) Electronic Logbook app account.

When the driver is through with driving, they need to disconnect from the KeepTruckin ELD; this will allow the next driver to be able to establish another ELD connection using their account.

When it comes to data that is supported by the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin), it’s the two telematics data transfer protocols that are specified by the FMCSA. It can be for roadside inspections, email, and web services.

FAQs

How Does KeepTruckin ELD Record The Driving Time?

Recording of the driving time on the driver’s log is automatic if the driver has connected the mobile device to the ELD and has selected a vehicle in the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) Electronic Logbook App.keeptruckin eld device

The Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) ELD detects the current movement of a vehicle depending on its speed. For instance, the vehicle is considered to be in motion if it’s moving more than 5MPH. Therefore, when the vehicle is at 0MPH, the vehicle is considered to be stationary.

How Can The Drivers Keep Driving Time Off Their Logs With An ELD?

Many ELDs pose problems for drivers around the yard because of rigid HOS rules. With paper logs, it was easy to account for.

The good news is that the FMCSA has outlined some driving sections in the ELD rule to allow the drivers to maintain their driving time of the logs.

With the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD device, it is as simple as keeping your driving time off the logs.  As a driver, you just need to indicate the personal conveyance status (or the yard move) to classify your driving time either as off duty or on duty, in a similar manner as the paper logs.

Is The KeepTruckin ELD Tamper-Proof?

Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) electronic log is tamper-resistant.  It uses multiple methods to ensure that it prevents tampering. The KeepTruckin ELD uses GPS satellite time to prevent users from manipulating their drive time. This means drivers cannot cheat the system by modifying their mobile device’s clock.

  • The KT device records the driving time continuously, even in times when the driver has not connected his mobile device to the ELD via Bluetooth.
  • It also records all unidentified driving incidences, which transmit to the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) servers- when the driver connects to the ELD.

What Happens During Loss of Connectivity with the Motive ELD?

Even in the event of a lost connection, the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD continues to record data. Once the device reconnects, it syncs all the offline data automatically. This ensures that there’s no loss of data and that every activity is accurately logged.

How Does the ELD Handle Breaks and Rest Periods?

For adherence to the Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, it’s crucial to log breaks and rest periods. With the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD, drivers can easily indicate their status as ‘On Break’ or ‘Off Duty’. The system will then halt the recording of driving time, ensuring compliance with mandatory rest periods.

Can Fleet Managers Access Real-time Data with Motive ELD?

Yes, Motive’s ELD system provides fleet managers with real-time insights. From driving hours, locations, to vehicle health, managers can have a comprehensive view of their fleet’s operations at any given time, assisting in better decision-making.

How Are Updates and Upgrades Handled for the ELD Software?

Motive (formerly Keep Truckin ELD) consistently updates its ELD software to improve functionality, ensure security, and stay compliant with regulations. Most updates are carried out over the air, which means there’s minimal disruption, and users always have access to the latest features and protections.

Does the ELD Allow for Annotations or Remarks by Drivers?

Absolutely. The ELD system by Motive offers drivers the flexibility to add annotations or remarks to their logs. This feature comes in handy when there’s a need to provide additional context or clarification about specific events or statuses.

Final Review Remarks about Motive (KeepTruckin ELD)

The Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) App is intuitive and simple to use. It has a DOT Inspection Mode that is convenient for viewing the log history of the enforcement officers. You can also email or fax logs from the app.

  • The app has a back-office system that is equally modern and easy to use. The system includes messaging, GPS location, and an overview of the HOS compliance.
  • Reports of DVIR and some basic HOS are included, although the advanced reporting is for the higher level of service plan which has an additional $15 per month from the Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD price.
  • Like any other BYOD provider, Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD provides the basic features plus the means to be ELD compliant without having to break the bank.
  • Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) is different from many competitors as they have been adding more telematics features, raising them to the same level as some more expensive systems.
  • Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) ELD has set itself apart by being among the first to have complete compliance with the ELD mandate. Most devices are still AOBRDs until their software meets the ELD standards. Major vendors should achieve full compliance with the ELD mandate before its due date, but it is essential to note Motive (formerly Keep Truckin) is at that point already.

In any case, it is not an easy decision to find the ELD device that best fits your needs.  For a free consultation, you can fill out the form below.

how the hell are you going to mke changes to your account 30 days prior when they only give you 1 days notice that the invoice is due .

absolutley horrible and unaccountable customer service

    1. Hi Leonard, thanks for sharing your experience. It’s unfortunate that this has happened to you. Motive generally puts out a good product although their service has been an increasing topic of concern. Hopefully they can improve their customer service if they want to retain and get new clients.

  2. I signed up for Motive but never got a chance to use the product. The items was still in the box. I got charged and called to cancel my membership and was still getting charged. I tried to send them the product back. They want take it. I tried every way possible to cancel the membership and they said they did it but really didn’t. Now, they want me to pay over $3000 for a membership that I never used and trying to sue me. I would never recommend these people to anyone.

    1. Hi Tonja, I’m really sorry to hear you’re having such a tough time with Motive; they are a big company, but they can also make mistakes.
As for your concern, although you get charged monthly, there is an initial contract of 12 months, it is possible that you are getting charged because of that. Hopefully, you will be able to resolve the issue.

Absolute WORST customer service ive ever experienced……………… all of their under trained, script reading work from home agents that are totally uselss. You request mangers contact information and they refuse…..

Stay tuned for my 3 week ordeal with them that will make anyone RUN from motive……..

      1. Thank you for sharing your experience, Peter. We’re truly sorry to hear about the disappointing customer service you’ve received from Motive. Your feedback is extremely important to us and our community. While it’s disheartening to learn about your ordeal, we look forward to reading more about your documented experience. This will not only help us understand the specific issues you faced but also serve as a learning experience for everyone, including Motive representatives who read our visitors’ reviews. Your insights are valuable and can assist others in making informed decisions. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

  3. Worst customer service, Fred Cook did very bad customer services, I am in trouble with them from last two years with them, they are getting worse and worse. I don’t recommend it

  4. I don’t wish the troubles I have had with Motive, formerly Keep Truckin, on anyone. I had originally purchased one ELD and it costs more than this review says, and it is in the contract that you can’t reveal the price you actually pay to others, but anyhow, I temporarily added an ELD to a different truck and was paying double. I had a sick family member that I was caring for and ended up canceling the service for the second truck. Over a year later I realized that Motive was still double billing me. I called and was told that while it did show that I had cancelled the second ELD they had not stopped billing me. They refused to refund any money. I told them to stop double billing me and they made it real inconvenient with having to provide serial numbers and I sent emails plus many painful phone conversations with everyone saying they are managers. A couple months later, I realized they were still double billing me because it was being auto paid to my credit card. I tried to get it cancelled again but they insist trying to double bill me. I had to cancel my credit card and they are still calling trying to double bill me. They have the worst billing team. They will say something and in the same conversation deny that they said it. It is so time consuming dealing with this company and I was going to just change companies but my drivers is comfortable with this system and don’t want to change. I also found out from Motive staff that you only have access to your driver logs while you have service. You do not have access to old records once you stop the service. Terrible business. If someone is recommending this business I would bet they are getting a kickback. The company that recommended them to me said they no longer recommend them but I seen today that Pilot flying J truck recommends them which really surprised me. Pilot Flying J should learn something from Budweiser, be careful who you tie your brand too. Love’s Truck stops are normally nearby.

    1. Hi Jonathan, thank you for sharing your experience. All comments, good or bad, are welcome because it helps others make informed decisions. Anytime one of our readers/followers has a complaint, we hope they find a solution. Although ELDdevices.net has no control over customer service complaints about Motive or any other company, we do what we can to help. FYI… in the past, Motive has contacted us about comments users have left on our site regarding authenticity. Unfortunately we have no way of confirming whether comments are genuine or not. My point is that this means Motive monitors the comments on this site! Why? Maybe they cross reference names of commenters and their customers to resolve issues?… I’m not sure. But hopefully someone from Motive will see your comment and reach out to help you.

Cost per truck is over $100 a month. That is eld plus camera. Not 25 dollars as advertised.

    1. The prices are $25-50 depending on what services you choose with the ELD, also depends on your fleet size, larger fleet has cheaper cost per vehicle. And, the dashcam services are available separately, maybe they are also charging some fees for internet with dashcams. I recommend you talk with the helpline and ask from them about the details of all the charges and what services are included in your package.
Thanks for shedding some light on possible issues, it will help anyone else facing the same problem.

  8. I have a small company from Manitoba Canada of 5 trucks. 2 trucks will be required to run an eld . I need someone to please call me at 2043848086 to talk about setting up an eld.

If you are thinking of purchasing a eld through motive pls consider another company. These people are scammers, their customer service is terrible, they try to upsell you even when you have told them numerous times that you are not interested. We have been extremely frustrated with this company and I would not recommend what so ever. We have paid in full for our eld’s and they have after a few months removed them from our platform and therefore they do not work in the trucks anymore, then they come back to us and tell us that we didn’t pay for them and that we must pay again for them to be activated.
Also many times what they quote you and then what you actually see on your invoice and receipt do not match up. Their billing is beyond confusing.

I was think that it is only me having bad experiences with this company but after reading the other people reviews I realized that I have made biggest mistake doing business with company. This is the worst company I have ever deal with. They are 100% scammers I have talked and agreed on the price and service after paying them almost $500 I received wrong dash-came I ordered dull facing camera they sent me road facing after contacting them consecutively for a week finally they said they are going to send us the replacement. Now it’s been one month waiting for them to ship but they even didn’t ship the camera replacement. Trying to contact them every single day but no answer. I am trying to get in touch with management team ASAP. I have already filled the claim against this company on attorney’s general office about there fraudulent business.

  11. Hi, my name is Lateisha Davis and I’ve been a customer for a year now. I’m totally unsatisfied with customer service bill department. I’ve had an open case since March 2022. Motive/Keep Truckin was processing payments on my personal account for another customer. I’ve explained to multiple agents that I have no affliction with company. The company has taken $1018 from my account and only refunded $350 June 15. I’m still placing calls to company to obtain my funds. I’ve been getting the run around. Agents are dismissing calls by saying there’s an open case. Again I disputed charges back in March. I’ve uploaded bank statements verifying charges. I will be taking this company to court. A case shouldn’t take months to resolve. Unfortunately I can’t opt from agreement from what I was told until 2025. I’ve exhausted with contacting billing department and hopefully you’re able to escalate.

THE WORST! It’s a big long, buckle up…

Firstly – they allowed someone that did NOT have the authorization to put my company under any contracts to start a new contract with them. Had I had the chance to review their racket of a contract and it’s terms, I never would’ve agreed to them.

We decided to close our business and cancel service with them. I bought their ELD and now would like to sell it back to them or to another company in need of it. Keep Truckin aka Motive refuse to allow that. I can’t send it back, they won’t take it. I can’t sell it, because they refuse to assign it to another company. The first rep told me they don’t have the ability to do it (but they’ll lease the equipment and can reprogram them for the next customer).

Then I got the TRUTH – really, they were losing money. Apparently other companies were buying the equiptment and selling them when they no longer needed them and then asking KeepTruckin aka Motive to set up a new account, they wanted to use the service. So they were losing money on the new customer because the new customer didn’t have to purchase or lease the equipment.

So – I’m stuck with a subscription that I didn’t agree to, but they won’t allow me to lessen the amount of data I have. They said that we can’t change the terms after the contract is implace but they certainly allowed me to add data about a month after getting started.

    And – I’m stuck with equipment I can’t use.

Horrible business, they trick you saying they have a promotion for free hardwares, but it actually a contract for 2-5 years that they will not disclosed with you. Once I find out I sign into a 5 years contract, I called their customer services, multiple times, and all they say is that the way it is, they can’t change anything now. Please avoid this business, it scamming people into contract that they are not aware of.

  14. They locked me in for 60 months contract without my knowledge. I asked the agent, Tim Shaw, multiple time if this is month to month and can I cancel at anytime, he said YES! Then I later found out that I was locked into a 60 months contract when I was trying to cancel their dashcam service. I contacted their customer services multiple times and everytime they try to blame it on me for not carefully reading the contract, but refuse to take responsibility for their agent scamming me. I even asked them if they recorded phone calls between their agent and I, they said yes. They said they listen to all of it and did not hear Tim confirming it’s a month to month. I then ask them if they can send me those recording and they refused, saying is their company property 😂 Okkk! Who in their right mind would lock themselves in a 5 years contract with an ELD service company on the first year of opening their business? Now Im stuck with them for 5 years, ain’t going to use them ever again after this stupid contract is over, which is in 2024. TRUCKERS PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS UNETHICAL BUSINESS!

Worst customer service out there. Had a driver on his 34 hour reset came and got the truck, took it home to wash bed sheets, clean the truck and load personal items in, he forgot to select personal conveyance and it logged him on duty driving. He drove like 10 miles. Called customer service to have it corrected and they refused. Apparently I’m paying for a service that they can dictate about drivers making a honest mistake. Now his 34 hour reset is all screwed up.

  16. We entered into an agreement with Keeptruckin to establish a ELD (Electronic Logging Devices) a service that we cannot use without the actual device that connect with the vehicle, And was told that there is a grace period with an option to cancel. Yet to our surprise the billing started from the time you give Keeptruckin your credit card number, even though they will not provide you with s service since the device is not shipped nor received by us. And we sent an email to support and sales person as instructed by the website, we haven’t received any reply back from either, until a 2nd email was sent and a call to support to request a call back.
Now Alan Samuel’s the sale person telling us in order to cancel( Even thought) the device was shipped late, never hooked nor used, we will have to pay the remaining of the 35 mouths!

Customer service bugs the hell out of me every other month to upgrade. Think I’ll go another route.

  18. positive reviews are all fake. keeptruckin has industry worst customer support, they will over charge you, support reps are all off shore with fake north american names that dont have any knowledge about the product, have eld shortage so they cannot ship for 3 months but they dont tell you that when signing contract only after. this company will disrupt your operations 12 times a year do not get stuck with them. have to block credit cards to stop them from charging

    1. Hi Ray, thanks for your input. All reviews in elddevices.net are real and made by actual Keep Truckin users. Our contacts with Keep Tuckin representatives are US-based. We are not aware if there are some representatives offshore but it is possible since many companies in every industry use remote call centers.

  19. The device came a month late, and my driver had a chance to use this device on another truck, and preferred to stay with our current provider who does not charge a monthly service fee. The driver stated the device did not track his hours well enough on a continuous basis like the current system. Unfortunately I had signed up with a contract for services of 50 dollars per month. It is a two year contract and they will not let me even lower the service plan to 20 dollars a month, although I am sure the would have changed the contract from 20 to 50 dollars a month at any time. So basically I can going to lose the cost of the device and 1200 dollars over two years to this company who will not provide me with any service, nor will they negotiate with me and at least allow me to ride out the contract at 20 per month. You can get much better service and equipment without a monthly fee. This is a complete rip off. Do not use this devise or this company.

  20. Worst customer service i have ever encountered in my whole entire life!Ordered keeptruckin and the representative lied to me so as to get me on board.I requested for cancellation since the hardware was going to take 1 month to be shipped but i am being told your request will be rejected!Rude unprofessional customer service with attitude,I need my $480 refunded since i don’t have your product!I’ll never ever use keeptruckin,

I have a fleet company with multiple trucks, the gps constantly fails to perform and when I talk to the rep they tell me they will escalate it but i dont get a cal until 2-3 weeks later. They don’t want to refund me for their bad service either. Everything was ok until the gps stopped working…. And this has been the 20th time I’ve had this issue and am simply fed up! Not the company to go with if you heavily depend on gps stay away!!!

    1. Hi Jason, thanks for your feedback, I haven’t heard about GPS failures before… However, I am aware that Keep Truckin customer support can be improved. My suggestion is to be consistent because eventually you will find a customer service representative that will be able to solve your issue.

Its a good system BUT the customer service is SHIT!
Forgot to update my credit card info after I changed accounts. They shut me down over the weeked for a measly $21. Have had this service for over a yr, never missed a payment. Yet my old card doesn’t go through and OFF it is. No one available to take payments over the weekends. Cannot update card info their website and to get a hold of some one it takes 40 mins during the week. Then they transfer you cause it’s the wrong department and the line hangs up. I went through this BS system over 8 times before i got a telling me it’s my fault to begin with.
For a company like this that has trucks using their system 24/7 including holidays…… getting shut down on a weekend for $21 is real petty shit. Is this company gonna go broke if they wait till Monday to get paid?
No! Yet, they are very quick to log you out for $21.
I expected more from this company.
I will be looking for another form of elog.

1 truck that I need to keep the law off of

  28. I heard the ELD unit is an amazing tool, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to use the one I purchased. I was sent the wrong unit, no problem I will just exchange it. NOT! Within 5 days and speaking to 6 different KeepTruckin representatives and being told REPEATEDLY by one billing and invoice personnel (“Sir you don’t listen”), and having been told REPEATEDLY ” It is Keep Truckin company policy that we cannot exchange the item until you subscribe and purchase a service plan.” Mind you, I had already created an account and decided on the plan I would select once I received the equipment. REPEATEDLY I have been brushed off, transferred, etc. it has been 3 weeks with no response, actions nor communication from Keep Truckin. I did nothing wrong other than to purchase what I was told was the best ELD equipment out there. Why would I be treated as so, I have no clue? Anyone wanting to purchase the best ELD on the market please let me know. Oh, by the way, the unit I have is for a tractor-trailer, I have a 1 ton dually.

  1. people ,, never use this company , they send you an invoice and if you want to make changes , you are screwed,

they sent an invoice dec 1 , due dec 2 , tried to call but of course all people i tried to call goes straight to voicemail and when i did actually speak to a human, they said you have to make changes to your account 30 days prior to any invoicing
how the hell are you going to mke changes to your account 30 days prior when they only give you 1 days notice that the invoice is due .

absolutley horrible and unaccountable customer service

    1. Hi Tina,

    Don’t use KeepTruckin!
Poor customer service and don’t stand behind their product. The KeepTruckin philosophy is pay your money and we will keep it!
If you are trucking…..you work hard for your money, so don’t throw it away to this company!
    ZERO STARS! ZERO RATING!
